Atelier Gyuusha
Kousaku Kitazawa is the ceramic artist behind Atelier Gyuusha, based in Iida City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
Located near the historic Mino pottery region, Atelier Gyuusha develops tableware that brings together the strengths of regional ceramic production with Kitazawa’s own distinctive sense of form, carving, and color.
His work is rooted in the belief that culture is nurtured not only in museums or galleries, but also in everyday life—through cooking, baking, sharing food, and using objects with care.
Atelier Gyuusha’s vessels are designed to support these daily acts of creativity, adding warmth, rhythm, and a gentle sense of occasion to the table.
The pieces are especially loved by home bakers, food creators, and sweets artists in Japan, many of whom use Atelier Gyuusha’s plates and bowls in their own culinary presentations.
Rather than standing apart from life, Kitazawa’s ceramics are made to live within it: to hold food, to inspire expression, and to become part of meaningful everyday moments.
