Misuzu Ishigami 石神美鈴
Born in Miyazaki Prefecture in 1976, Misuzu Ishigami began studying ceramics in 2014 and established her own studio in Takaharu, Miyazaki in 2018.
Together with her partner,she runs "HAPPYTIME Utsuwa-ya," focusing on the creation of everyday tableware.Her work is guided by a simple idea:to create pieces that people would want to use every day.
Small sculptural animals and figures often appear in her work,like tiny companions quietly resting on the surface of each vessel. Combined with soft colors and understated patterns,these details are not immediately overwhelming,but instead reveal themselves gradually over time.
It is perhaps this gentle,unforced sense of cuteness that allows her pieces to become a lasting part of daily life.
