Due to recent changes in U.S. customs regulations, all parcels shipped from Canada to the United States are now subject to import duties and taxes, regardless of order value.

  • Duties and taxes must be paid in advance before your parcel can be released for delivery.

  • If duties remain unpaid, your package may be delayed or returned by U.S. Customs.

  • Yochi Cups will not be responsible for delays, returns, or additional costs caused by unpaid duties.

Please ensure you are aware of these requirements before placing your order.

Customs Duties by Country of Origin and Material

Although Yochi Cups ships from Canada, U.S. Customs determines duties based on the product’s country of origin and material type. Below is a general reference guide (actual rates vary depending on HTS code and customs assessment):

Ceramics (cups, plates, tableware)

  • Japan: ~6% duty

  • China: Higher tariffs may apply, up to 25%

  • France / Australia: Typically ~6%

  • Canada: May qualify under USMCA, but duties are often still applied through postal channels

Stainless Steel (cutlery, utensils, accessories)

  • Japan: ~3–5%

  • China: May face additional tariffs, up to 25%

  • France / Australia: Typically ~3–5%

  • Canada: Generally low under USMCA, but postal shipments may still be taxed

Glassware (cups, bowls, vases)

  • Japan: ~3–7%

  • China: May be subject to higher tariffs, up to 25%

  • France / Australia: Typically ~5–7%

  • Canada: May qualify for reduced duty under USMCA, though customs fees may still apply

Wooden Products (trays, chopsticks, accessories)

  • Japan / France / Australia: Usually ~3–5%

  • China: May be subject to higher tariffs, up to 25%

  • Canada: Often reduced or duty-free under USMCA, though postal shipments can still incur charges

Upcoming Policy Change

Please note that Yochi Cups will be suspending all shipments to the United States.

  • This policy change will take effect one week from today.

  • Orders placed before this date will be processed under the current terms.

 To ensure smooth delivery:

  • Please complete any duty and tax payments promptly when contacted by the carrier or customs broker.

  • Failure to pay duties in advance may result in delays or returns, for which Yochi Cups cannot be held responsible.
