TATA Pottery Studio 田中大輝 & 田边桂

Based at Kyoto' s TATA Pottery Studio, Daiki Tanaka(田中大辉)and Katsura Tanabe(田辺桂) unite craftsmanship and artistry. Daiki brings over ten years of dedication to his white and indigo porcelain -hand-thrown or slip-cast-infused with elegant minimalism and pastoral calm. Every piece, shaped in Keihoku' s peaceful countryside, is designed to grow more intimate with use and time.

Rooted in studies at Kyoto Seika University and apprenticeship with Shin Murata, Tanaka maintains a single-author methodology: sourcing and preparing clay, forming in white and blue porcelain through slip casting and wheel work, and firing himself at TATA Pottery Studio, ensuring each handmade object carries an undiluted, contemplative presence.

Katsura Tanabe hand-paints select vessels with whimsical pastel illustrations- animals, botanicals, and quiet scenes- adding narrative charm to each object.

Together, their studio presents ceramics that are both functional and story-rich: clean-lined forms decorated with delicate, illustrative touches, perfect for daily use yet brimming with subtle wonder.
